The queer cabaret that revolutionised the nightlife of Florence, a reference point for the LGBTQIA+ community and beyond. Established in 2021 from an Underdogs Creative idea in collaboration with Arcigay Firenze, The Shade is directed by Michele Faes (La Fay) and Riccardo Massidda (Ava Hangar). Winner of the Rainbow Award 2023, The Shade is a symbol of inclusion, fun, connections and new perspectives.

TENDER

“Tender – Dissonant score for a drag queen” is the story of a show that never was. Behind the wigs, makeup and an apparently constant improvisation, Ava Hangar, the drag character of Riccardo Massidda, presents a reflection on the difficulty of materialising ideas and dreams, through an entirely personal
analysis of the art of drag, relationships and dating apps.

Dont’ tell my mother

More than a title, it’s a necessity! La Fay S., the stage name of Michele Faes, presents a show with the leitmotif of family. A family that’s both incoherent and stable, where every member is bizzare, recognisable and memorable. The audience might recognise their neighbours or their daughter’s schoolmate’s cousin, but these characters are ultimately an opportunity for reflection, laughter and sharing.

Sussidiario

A recent Underdogs Creative production, Sussidiario is a manual to Italian pop culture led by the drag artists: Ava Hangar, La Fay and La Trave Nell’Okkio. A cabaret that explores TV icons and cult tabloid moments, it offers audiences an opportunity to discover well-known stories under the new light of the queer perspective.
